Invited Competition NYC 2011
A series of conceptual living spaces made of polypropylene rope. Structure consultant AKTII and High Performance (circus riggers). Client: MoMA NYC. Budget $75k.
Our chosen strategy consists in tensioning ropes back to the bolt holes of the surrounding walls.
The low-fidelity Ghost House offers the minimum features of house-ness: a pitched roof and an eve.
There are no doors or apertures. Visitors enter through missing walls.
The main court (right) is dedicated to the spirit of modern living.
